FloridaAce was such a wonderful conference, as a career service professional it is always invigorating listening to other institutions and learning about the programs and initiatives that they’re implementing to help students.
I received so many takeaways and cool ideas that I plan on using at Florida International University. I valued meeting colleagues from other institutions as well as hearing from employers/ recruiters on ways we can work better together.
Attending FloridaACE is a must! I hosted my first round table “The Millennial Way: Millennials in the Workplace”. Where I led the discussion on how Career Centers & Employers can cater to the rapid growing new workforce generation.
The best part of the conference was the FloridaACE after party! I had a blast laughing, networking and taking fun pictures in the photobooth! Definitely by far one of the best conferences that I have attended.
This was also my first time being a presenter for the breakout sessions. My colleague Andrea De La Cruz and I presented on “Why Career Centers need Job Developers” Which presented itself as a hot topic, given that Employer Relations professionals really have to work on building bridges with new employers who don’t necessarily recruit from their institution or college.
